DVD Pelnu sanatorija

The film takes place in 1917 in Kurzeme. In the last days of World War I, retired German war doctor Ulrich is sent to a remote sanatorium where contused and mentally traumatized soldiers are treated. Ulrich discovers a strange, dreamlike world of peace and oblivion. This proves to be a test of his rational mind and his determination to 'impose order'. On the other hand, an unexpected affection for an abandoned, wild boy allows Ulrich to regain his blunted humanity. However, the war is not over yet - sooner or later it will also reach this place of refuge.
